Core Reforms Engaging Arts to Educate
CREATE CA is a statewide coalition of agencies, organizations, and individuals
partnering on an education reform movement that views arts education as an essential
part of the solution to the problems facing California schools. Since 2011, this group
has been working strategically throughout the state to, in the words of State Superintendent
of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, “foster a Renaissance in arts education”
for California schools. CREATE CA is led by four founding organizations:
  • California Arts Council

  • California Alliance for Arts Education

  • California County Superintendents Educational Services Association

  • California Department of Education
